New Year – New you! Let this year be the year you take control of your dental health and not let the little things slide. Your teeth and mouth are so important for living, so let’s invest time and energy into it for your dental future! These are our 6 suggested goals for you to aim for. Let us help you achieve them.
Brushing twice a day
Making sure teeth brushing twice a day is part of your usual routine is so important for overall oral health. Brush at night to remove the food and bacteria from your mouth to decrease your risk of decay - brush your teeth in the morning to freshen your breath to keep your friends.
Flossing everyday
They say it takes 3 weeks to form a habit, so January is you month to add flossing daily into your routine. Ensuring between your teeth are cleaned, decreasing the risk of decay!
Straighten your teeth
I know this one sounds like a big investment but if you have been thinking about it and have the funds to do so, there is no time like the present! It is something you will never regret and will only improve your gum health, bite, and overall smile. This is your sign that now is the time to do it!
Don’t delay treatment
Often in the dental industry patients will say to us that a tooth doesn’t hurt so they will wait to get it fixed. This shouldn’t be your alarm of when treatment should be done; pain means the decay may have gone into the nerve of the tooth which means Root Canal Treatment compared to a simple filling. Have trust and ask your dentist if you need more explanation as to why treatment needs to be completed.
Quit smoking
Nothing good comes from smoking/e-cigarettes; your mouth and body will thank you for kicking the habit. Consult your doctor for a care plan to quit.
Drink more water
Water: the magical fluid that not only keeps our body going but also helps keep your mouth rinsed and bacteria at bay. We all have times in our lives when we say we need to drink more, let this be your reminder to keep hydrated this year.
To achieve these goals, we are here for you! We will book and remind you of your appointments, check if you have been maintaining your oral hygiene routine and we will treatment plan for you. We will do our part; the rest is up to you!
Wishing everyone an amazing, safe, and sparkly 2023!
